What does this module teach?

Science is, first of all, not a pile of facts but a method of testing. This module walks through four building blocks of that method with everyday examples: first, which statements count as testable claims at all; then, the conditions that make a claim testable; next, why a strong claim must be able to say which observation would prove it wrong; and finally, how assessment is blinded so that our expectations cannot steer the results.

The examples are drawn mostly from the sky, but the skill you gain applies everywhere — from health product adverts to technology headlines.

Why this order?

The sequence is built like a chain: we cannot talk about test design before telling apart what is a claim; without understanding testability, the importance of falsifiability hangs in the air; and without grasping falsifiability, it is hard to see exactly what blinding protects. Each lesson picks up where the previous one left off, so we recommend completing the module in order.
